Kuebiko, Shinto Scarecrow God of Wisdom, Agriculture, Fertility.
Kuebiko is represented in Japanese mythology as a scarecrow who cannot walk but has a deep knowledge of everything in the world.
According to legend, Japanese farmers would invite Kuebiko to leave his home in the mountains ⛰️ each Spring to embody the scarecrows in their rice fields 🌾.
Unable to move, Kuebiko was a keen, silent observer and listened to secrets that the birds whispered. In this way he collected wisdom greater than any other being in the world.
We can all take some inspiration from Kuebiko– to grow our wisdom by being still, observing, and tuning in to what is around us.
